Sophia Hwang, MSEd

Sophia Hwang is an Assistant Professor at University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

Previously, Sophia worked as a Research Manager at PolicyLab at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where she oversaw an education research portfolio involving public, nonprofit, and philanthropic stakeholders. During her Stoneleigh Emerging Leader Fellowship from 2010-2011, Sophia worked with Health Federation of Philadelphia to strengthen trauma-informed training for social workers and public service professionals in Philadelphia. She began her career with Teach for America as a high school science teacher in Philadelphia.

Sophia holds an MSEd from the University of Pennsylvania and a PhD in Applied Psychology from New York University.
