Janet Kroll, PhD

Senior Officer, Evaluation and Learning

Janet joined the Stoneleigh Foundation in 2019. She brings extensive expertise in the design and assessment of organizational and program strategy to advance change in youth-serving systems. In her role as Senior Officer of Evaluation and Learning, Janet will partner with staff and Fellows to strengthen the Foundation’s strategic focus and programs, advance understanding of the impact of Stoneleigh’s investments, and broaden the sharing of knowledge gained from the Fellows’ work.

Janet currently serves as part-time Executive Director of the Homeless Assistance Fund, Inc. (HAFI), a private foundation that seeks to prevent and end homelessness in Philadelphia. Before coming to Stoneleigh, she spent seven years as a consultant working with local foundations and nonprofits to sharpen their strategies and programs and build their capacity to achieve lasting impact. Earlier in her career, Janet served as Associate Dean for Administration at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Design; as Senior Officer, Planning and Evaluation at The Pew Charitable Trusts; and Officer, Education Program, The Pew Charitable Trusts.

Janet holds a BA in women’s studies from Brown University, an MA in public policy from Duke University, and a PhD in education with a focus on federal and state policy from the University of Pennsylvania.
