Healing trauma caused by gun violence can start at the hospital

Former Stoneleigh Fellow Ted Corbin and his colleague Dr. John Rich joined Reset to discuss the trauma of firearm violence and the role hospitals can play in addressing trauma early.

Gun violence can change the lives of survivors, friends, family and the larger community. It can make people fearful for their lives, untrusting of the people around them and even lead to PTSD, depression and anxiety.

Trauma can impact all aspects of life from relationships to education to employment.

But treating that trauma before it gets worse can start where someone would get physical treatment for a gunshot wound: the hospital.
