Building Community Power and Resilience in Fairhill-Hartranft

Nneka Azuka will serve as an Emerging Leader Fellow at The Village of Arts and Humanities. In this role, she will increase The Village’s capacity for community organizing and neighborhood power-building as an effective strategy for more equitable access to the resources that reduce violence and reverse disinvestment policies.

Nneka is an educator and community organizer with a background in political education, community advocacy, and analysis. She currently serves as an Abolition School Facilitator at the W.E.B. Du Bois Movement School for Abolition & Reconstruction, where she facilitates participatory classes on abolitionist history, supports students in developing theoretical foundations and practical organizing strategies, and helps create opportunities for collective learning and accountability.

Nneka holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo.
