Eduardo Burgos Quezada currently serves as a Stoneleigh Emerging Leader Fellow with Nationalities Service Center to identify gaps in behavioral health services, examine evidence-based intervention models, and develop best practice recommendations to better serve immigrant youth in Philadelphia.
Eduardo brings to this role both personal experience as a young Mexican immigrant, as well as academic experience as a participatory researcher focused on migrant health. As a Lang Opportunity Scholar and a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow at Swarthmore College, Eduardo designed and implemented a summer applied research study and a migrant community healing program to document the migration, employment, and health experiences of migrant workers in Wyoming and the impact of these factors on their health outcomes. As part of this study, he conducted participant observation while weeding fields with migrant workers, serving as an outreach worker at a migrant clinic, and participating in arts-based wellness sessions. In addition, Eduardo worked as a COVID-19 contact tracer for Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, further developing his skills in outreach, communications, and trust-building.
Eduardo holds a bachelor’s degree in medical anthropology from Swarthmore College.
