Daria Waite, MPH, MSW

Enhancing Service Provision and Access for Survivors of Violence

Daria Waite will serve as an Emerging Leader Fellow at Healing Hurt People. In this role, she will work to enhance understanding of the needs of survivors of violence and their access to services, with the goal of fostering broader utilization of hospital-based violence intervention program services.

Daria currently serves as a Research Associate at the Center for Nonviolence and Social Justice (CNSJ) at Drexel University’s Dornsife School of Public Health. During her decade-long tenure at CNSJ, Daria has gained significant experience in participatory research methods; data collection, analysis, and dissemination; mixed methods evaluation and program quality improvement; strategic planning; and staff training and management. Prior to joining CNSJ, she conducted mental and behavioral health work within the Philadelphia School District and research at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Daria is interested in healing-centered, culturally responsive violence intervention program models and incorporating the recommendations of communities that are most affected by the design and operation of social service systems.

Daria holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Dartmouth College and master’s degrees in public health and social work from Temple University. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in health management and policy from Drexel University.
