Combating Crime Guns in Philadelphia

Ashley Johnson will serve as an Emerging Leader Fellow at Brady. In this role, she will develop and implement a comprehensive educational campaign to increase public understanding of the supply-side issue of gun violence.

Ashley is an organizer, educator, and advocate committed to building equitable systems that center care, community voice, and long-term safety. She currently serves as a Program Coordinator at NET Community Care, a Community Umbrella Agency, where she leads initiatives that support families impacted by systemic violence and trauma. Ashley also organizes community-based efforts focused on gun violence prevention, blending public education, outreach, and advocacy to advance healing and structural change. Previously, she completed internships at Casa Del Carmen Family Service Center and Jefferson Abington Hospital, where she supported family engagement and patient advocacy efforts across social and health service systems.

Ashley holds a bachelor’s degree in social work with a minor in environmental studies from Temple University.
