Herbie Bohnet

Associate General Counsel, University of Pennsylvania's Office of Investments

Herbie Bohnet is the Associate General Counsel for the University of Pennsylvania’s Office of Investments. In this role, he oversees all legal matters related to the management of the University’s endowment and pension plans.

Prior to this, Herbie served as Managing Director and General Counsel for The Investment Fund for Foundations, a not-for-profit investment adviser serving endowed U.S. charities and foundations. He was responsible for setting firm strategy and policies as well as setting and implementing investment strategy. Previously, Herbie work as an associate at Ropes & Gray, LLP in Boston, where he advised clients with respect to private investment funds; worked with fund sponsors on the formation of private equity and hedge funds; and represented institutional investors, including large university endowments and foreign pension funds.

Herbie holds a bachelor’s degree in biomedical and mechanical engineering from Duke University and a juris doctorate from Stanford Law School.
