The Honorable Alice Beck Dubow serves as a judge on the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, one of the state’s two intermediate appellate courts. Prior to her election to Superior Court, she served as a judge for eight years on Philadelphia’s County Court of Common Pleas, where she presided over jury and non-jury criminal, civil, and juvenile cases.
Before becoming a judge, Judge Dubow practiced law for 23 years in a variety of areas. She served as Deputy General Counsel of Drexel University as well as Divisional Deputy City Solicitor. She also worked at Wolf, Block, Schorr and Solis-Cohen as well as Fineman and Bach. Judge Dubow also clerked for the Honorable Edward G. Biester, a former US representative (R-PA), who served as a judge in Bucks County.
Judge Dubow is a member of the American Law Institute, the Juvenile Procedural Rules Committee of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, and the Mental Health and Justice Advisory Committee of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency. She has also served on numerous nonprofit Boards of Trustees, including Carson Valley Children’s Aid, the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and the Opera Company of Philadelphia.
Judge Dubow graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law in 1984 and the University of Pennsylvania, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, cum laude, in 1981.
