Kacey Mordecai currently serves as Justice in Public Safety Project Counsel at the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund.
Kacey previously served at Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights after five years as a Staff Attorney at the Juvenile Law Center, where she worked to improve national policy and practice for children in the foster care and juvenile justice systems. As a Stoneleigh Emerging Leader Fellow at Juvenile Law Center from 2011-2012, Kacey built a case for the application of international human rights law in American courts to ensure greater protections for children in the juvenile justice system. Early in her career, Kacey held internships at the Jamaican Council for Human Rights and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights as well as other human rights organizations.
Kacey holds a BA in international studies from the University of Chicago and a JD from Georgetown University Law Center.
