Matthew Hurford

President and CEO, Community Care Behavioral Health Organization
Dr. Matthew Hurford is the President and CEO at Community Care Behavioral Health, one of the country’s largest nonprofit behavioral health managed care organizations. Through government and community partnerships, Community Care serves over one million members by supporting their behavioral health, wellness and recovery.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Hurford served as Chief Medical Officer at Community Care Behavioral Health and Chief Medical Officer of Philadelphia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual Disability Services and Community Behavioral Health. Previously, he served as the Medical Director of the Hall-Mercer Community Mental Health Center and as a Medical Officer Psychiatrist for the Indian Health Service, living and working on the White Mountain Apache Reservation in Whiteriver, Arizona.
Dr. Hurford holds a bachelor’s degree from Swarthmore College and an MD from Temple University School of Medicine.
