Trauma is connected to many of the daunting problems in our country

|Stoneleigh Fellow Richard Greenwald published an op-ed in the Daily Memphian on the effects of sexual assault and other trauma on youth.
Accusations of sexual assault and resulting trauma have dominated the news during the last few weeks. In its wake a much-needed public debate has ensued about how the memory works when one experiences a trauma.
There is great misunderstanding about trauma – especially about its lasting effects on children – and now is a good time to address it as the public health issue it is.
