Stoneleigh Hosts 2010 Fellows Reception
Stoneleigh Foundation held a reception in honor of its fellows on February 23, 2010. John Haas, Board Chair, and Julia Dutton, Executive Director, introduced Stoneleigh's new fellows and welcomed guests from the non-profit community, city government and the private sector. The new fellows were Arley Styer and Wanja Ogongi, both junior fellows; Julia Cousler Emig and Heather Rouse, both public policy fellows.
Styer is investigating the educational experience of children taught in group homes, residential treatment facilities and other mental health treatment programs. Ogongi is examining the causes of and possible solutions to the high rate of children returning to foster care within one year of being reunified with their birth families. Emig is working with the City of Philadelphia to strengthen the current truancy interventions, and Rouse will be establishing a Policy Analysis Center to integrate administrative data for strategic decision making.
