Ted Corbin, MD, MPP

Healing Hurt People

Dr. Ted Corbin is Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL.

As a Stoneleigh Fellow from 2011-2016, Ted worked to expand his Healing Hurt People program to additional emergency departments in Philadelphia and build the evidence base for hospital-based violence intervention strategies more broadly. He has received numerous honors, including the Clinician of the Year Award by the Thomas Jefferson University Emergency Medicine Residency Program. In 2005, Ted was awarded a Soros Physician Advocacy Fellowship, and in 2006 he was recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal as one of its “Forty Under Forty” Leadership Awardees for his youth violence prevention work. Ted served in the United States Army Reserve for more than ten years. He began his career as a biology teacher at a vocational high school in Bronx, New York.

Ted holds a BS in biology from Lincoln University, an MD from Drexel University College of Medicine, and an MPP from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.
