Kate Vengraitis, JD, MPH

Strengthening Special Education Advocacy for Court-Involved Children

Kate Vengraitis currently serves as a Supervising Attorney in the SSI, Aging, and Disability Units of Community Legal Services.

Kate previously served as a Staff Attorney in the Juvenile Unit of the Defender Association, where she was a Stoneleigh Emerging Leader Fellow from 2016-2017. During her Fellowship, Kate developed materials and provided cross-system training to strengthen the quality of special education advocacy for court-involved children. Prior to this work, she completed public interest law internships with the Disabilities Law Project at the Community Legal Aid Society in Wilmington, the Medical Legal Partnership at St. Christopher’s Hospital through the Legal Clinic for the Disabled, and Community Legal Services of Philadelphia. Kate also clerked for the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Kate holds a BA in history from Cornell University, an MPH in health management and policy from Drexel University, and a JD from Temple University.
